We’re a family that rarely goes on trips. For many years, we’ve taken a short trip to the beach with family, but it’s always been on a budget. We’ve skipped the dolphin watch, and didn’t even consider going to Schlitterbahn. Now that bills are paid off, we’re ready to make more memories with our kids.
Our first family trip was, of course, our trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando this past January. So, what’s next? We have plans to go this summer to Galveston and visit our friends. We plan to visit the Aquarium and an exhibit of the Titanic. How exciting!
I also have been interested in going to the Texas Renaissance Fair in Houston this October. This fall in History we’ll study this time period. It would be a great time to go to the festival.
My last trip I’d like to do in the next year is a trip to Dallas. I’ve always wanted to go to the book Depository and see the story of JFK’s assassination. The idea of going to Dallas also is particularly on my mind, because Kirt didn’t get to do his Richard Petty Ride Along while we were in Florida. We can go to the Texas Speedway in Fort Worth and let him do it there.
Both of the girls have birthdays in the next 3 weeks. While we were discussing what they want for their birthday, we started looking at an American Girl magazine. It was decided that they each wanted an American Girl Historical Doll. We were dreaming of how fun it would be to go to the factory one day, when I realized that there is an American Girl Boutique and Bistro in Dallas! So, that settled it!
We now have a reservation for a September trip to Dallas. We also plan on visiting the West End one evening for dinner. That sounds like a pretty special trip, if I do say so myself. I can’t wait!

That sounds fun! You won’t be too far from me.
By the way, our family has been to Schlitterbahn and it was SOOOO much fun!!!
