My middle child, C, is ready to read. We have worked on short vowel sounds until we couldn’t stand it any more! She is very good at books with short vowel and books with blends in them, but we needed to move on to more challenging books. She was starting to be bored with school.

I am having a blast planning some history projects for next year. We are going to use Biblioplan for Families: Ancients and my favorite, Story of the World , vol 1: Ancients. In one particular lesson, we will study about Ancient Egypt by applying Henna tattoos (a ritual the Egyptians did before burials), and wrapping [...]
Hidee Ho, Good Neighbor?

My husband is a yard artist. He loves a yard that’s edged, timmed, mowed and free of weeds. In our last house, we had St. Augustine grass and we loved the feel and look of our yard after hubby had it all manicured. He refuses to put borders, but instead trims up the edges himself.

Happy Birthday to ME!

Every year on my birthday I remind people repeatedly for days that “It’s my birthday.” This year, I am doing good to remember today’s the day. I have nothing planned other than to enjoy the day and maintain tidiness of the house.
I have been a closet Miss USA Pageant watcher for years. I love to [...]

I’m wondering what the person who found me by searching “teaching a woman how to squirt” thought of my lil’ ol’ blog… I don’t even know what that means. Do you?
WFMW: Homeschooling Curriculum Books

Lately, I’ve been planning our curriculum for next year. It’s something I really enjoy. I’m a planner, what can I say? I admit that, after 2 years of homeschooling, I still get confused with all the choices. I love homeschooling, but having the responsibility of choosing my kids’ curriculum can be overwhelming.
I bought two REALLY helpful books from Amazon. [...]
Boys Will Be Boys?

Yesterday, even with the rain clouds looming, I decided to water the yard a little. A came out wanting a movie and I asked if he would like to help and hold the hose all by himself!
After a few mintues of learning exactly how high you can squirt before you get wet, he thought he [...]

I’ve been a little in a writing slump. Can you tell? Sure my kids are as cute as always, but nothing super fun is going on around here. So… the ol’ blog has been pretty quiet.
This week is our spring break. All the kids in our neighborhood will be out playing and life will be [...]
Personal Guest of Mr. Trump
Posted in Family on March 13, 2007 | Leave a Comment »
Recently, my husband received a PERSONAL invitation to be Donald Trump’s guest to hear his real story on “Wealth Creation” presented by George Ross. We decided not to go, but who knows how rich we would have been by now, right?
Oh well…
I guess I’ll just stick around here and blog and do school, like normal.
